About Me

Hello!  My husband, Brad, and I are both math teachers.  I graduated from Lincoln County High School in 1987, received my Associate's Degree from Motlow State Community College in 1989, and received my Bachelor of Science Degree from MTSU in 1991.  I taught for Sylvan Learning Center and then remedial and developmental math for Motlow prior to coming to Shelbyville Central High School in 1992.  I taught here until 1996 when I decided to stay home to raise 3 sons: Garret, Jesse, and Cole Smotherman.  I tutored extensively during my time as a stay-at-home mom.  From 2005-2011, I was an adjunct instructor at Motlow teaching Algebra.  I have been at Central since 2011 teaching Algebra I and Algebra IB.

I enjoy flower gardening, cooking, walking, hiking, and spending time with my husband and my boys.
