Welcome to Mrs. McTigue's Website!

Thank you for visiting.

About Me:

I graduated from Lincoln County High School in 1987, received my Associate's Degree from Motlow State Community College in 1989, and received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics from MTSU in 1991.  I piloted a Sylvan Learning Center in Tullahoma and then taught remedial and developmental math for Motlow prior to coming to Shelbyville Central High School in 1992.  I taught here until 1996 when I decided to stay home to raise 3 sons: Garret, Jesse, and Cole Smotherman.  I tutored extensively during my time as a stay-at-home mom.  From 2005-2011, I was an adjunct instructor at Motlow teaching Algebra.  I have been at Central again since 2011 teaching Algebra I. My husband, Brad, recently retired from BCLA after teaching math for 30 years.

I enjoy flower gardening, cooking, walking, hiking, and spending time with my husband and my boys.

I have always wanted to teach.  I have high expectations for myself and of all my students.  I expect a student's best, and I will always give my students my best!
