SCHS Students Attend SCOPE at Belmont University. Carlie Barber elected to office.

Students across Tennessee provided their insights to issues facing public education. Students from Bedford County Schools (BCS) joined over 260 of their high school peers in Nashville on March 7 to express their views on public education in Tennessee at the Tennessee School Boards Association (TSBA) Student Congress on Policies in Education (SCOPE). The event took place on the Belmont University campus. Attending from Shelbyville Central High School were delegates Carlie Belle Barber and Joe Alvarez. Shelbyville Central High School is very proud of these students for their willingness to represent both Bedford County Schools and SCHS. Shelbyville Central High would also like to congratulate Carlie Barber, currently a sophomore at SCHS, on her election to the office of first vice president for the 2024 SCOPE year. It is so rewarding to see our students put their leadership skills into action. Nice job Carlie and Joe!
