About Me

Hi! My name is Richard Daniels, and I am the Aviation Maintenance and Aerospace Instructor at Shelbyville Central High.  I hold an Airframe & Powerplant Certificate and a Pilot’s License. My aviation career started in United States Air Force in 1972 and continued until I retired as the Sr. Director of Maintenance Operations – Accountable Manager for Contour Airlines where I worked and managed all hangar operations and maintenance activity including the Mechanic’s Apprenticeship Program.

 

My experience covers Cessna 150, Cessna 172, Piper Arrow, Piper Warrior, Piper Navajo, Mooney 201/231, Douglas DC-3, Nihon Aircraft YS-11, Convair 600/660, Convair 880 & 990, Douglas DC-8, Douglas DC-9, Boeing 727, Boeing 767, Embraer ERJ-135/145, Embraer ERJ-170/175, Embraer ERJ-190/195, Lockheed C-130 and a variety of other airframes.

 

I am married. I have three sons and one Granddaughter. I live in Christiana, TN with my wife Terry and our little dog, Emmee.
