Biography

My name is Margaret Anne Anderson and I am the junior class school counselor at SCHS. I will stay with the class of 2025 until they graduate. This is my 28th year as a school counselor. I worked 16 years on the elementary level, 4 years at Harris Middle School, and this is my 8th year at SCHS.  

I am a 1991 graduate of Shelbyville Central High School. I received a B.S. in Psychology from MTSU in 1994. I received my M.Ed. in School Counseling K-12 from MTSU in 1996. I have three children Nina Bryce, Ella, and Hudson. My daughters are also graduates of SCHS. Our family's blood runs blue and gold. 

I am committed to my school and my students. My job responsibilities include delivering and coordinating activities that help our students plan and monitor their own learning and prepare them for their futures. I prepare four year plans with each student and conduct career readiness assessments. I complete student scheduling yearly. I am first and foremost a counselor who is devoted to the social and emotional health of those on my caseload. I am available to see students and their parents daily.
